Pilgrimage4Peace Dinner in San Francisco
We had a fun, delicious dinner at our house last night for the California contingent of the Pilgrims for Peace, who attended the TEAM Conferenc in South Africa in March. In addition to the pilgrims themselves, we honored those who supported the pilgrimage with prayer, and work, and money (those who were known to us, and who could attend - great thanks to the many whose support is unknown). Of these pilgrimage supporters, we had: Fran and John Tornquist; Rosa Lee Harden and Kevin Jones; Sheila Andrus; Cricket Jones; and Jim Forsyth. The pilgrims brought back beautiful gifts for these pilgrims who traveled with us in prayer.
They gave Sheila the bright skirt she is wearing in some of the pictures, and a large, very fine basket, filled with yet more surprises. For me there was a radiant creche carved in Mozambique.
After dinner, each pilgrim had a chance to describe something about the pilgrimage that was most meaningful to him or her, and to talk about how the learnings of the pilgrimage are extending through their lives in the work places, schools, parishes, and other life-circles. This part was very inspiring to me.
